My Speech to Independence Day 64

The Independece Day of Republic Indonesia

Ladies and Gentlemen of the blessed,
Days after days, we have returned to celebrate The Independence Day of Republik Indonesia. To be aware of this event, let us think deeply at the historical day of our nation. When the first president of Indonesia Soekarno read the script of proclamation, eventhough only a few sentences, but it has a sense of meaning and was able to shake the world. It sense made the colonist tremble, because it followed by the spirit of the nation of indonesia to defensed it. And the combatant with the valiant struggle for independence. Not only in the year 1945, even earlier, as shown by the spirit of Prince Diponegoro, Imam Bonjol, Teuku Cik Ditiro, Sultan Hasanuddin, and Pattimura. And that's all in order to worship, to carry the word of God in the chapter Ar Ra'd verse 11.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ

From these verses, Allah asserts that people or nation will not rise and stand in line with other nations, if the nation does not want to try to get their own strength.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the blessed,
Apparently, to maintain the independence is not like turning a hand. Because the trial to overthrow the state was always exist. Such the rebellion which done by the G 30 S PKI in 1965. With the failure strength of Ằthểịs PKI in Indonesia, it made the nation strong, and trained to against every effort of any parts who wanted to destroy the state of the Republic of Indonesia.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the blessed,
At this time we feel the independence ideally by the freedom fighter who was killed defending the nation and state. We can enjoy the earth and all its contents, without having to ask for mercy to anyone. So we rightly give thanks to Allah. However because of Allah’s blessings, mercy, and Allah SWT help. We must give thanks, according to the Quran chapter Ibrahim verse 7.

وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ لأزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ


Ladies and Gentlemen of the blessed,
From the description above, I can conclude that on this day we commemorate the day of the independence of Indonesia on 17 August 2009. This happy day is not because of pity of any nations. But obtained through a long struggle. And sacrificing a lot of wealth and life.
Now we get a mandate from all of our predecessors for the independence of their struggle and sacrifice, fill it with the development activities. We Muslims will not be able to participate in development, if we do not provide our selves with the knowledge from various fields, including science of religion, as a basic step to face more.
When we have completed self-knowledge with any sciences and the science of the Hereafter, Insya Allah, our state of development achieved, and our country will soon become "Baldatun Thayyibatun wa Rabbun Ghaffur, the country fair and prosperous under the forgiveness of Allah SWT.
